Hi Benjamin and all,

FINALLY!

"Can't Say Goodbye" on a best hits collection. It's always been a song that's
deserved the description of "one of Seiko's best," and it appears in ONE PLACE
(Forever) and that's it.

So, Benjamin, I am delighted that you showed EXCELLENT taste by including it
in your collection...:-)

I mentioned this once here before, but Seiko's management and record company
could learn a big, big lesson from Izumi Sakai of ZARD and her label, B-Gram.
In 1999 she released two single-disc "collection" discs: "ZARD Best: The Singles
Collection" and "ZARD Best: Request Memorial." The "Singles Collection"
consisted of songs chosen by Izumi and the record company. "Request Memorial"
included the songs voted by her fans as their favorites (and not already
included on "Singles Collection"). As a bonus, each CD came with a very nice
extra: one had a glossy full color large photobook, the other a nice desktop
calendar, and both had personal messages to the fans from Izumi.

It was a gesture to the fans that said "I appreciate you, I listen to you,
thank you for your support and here are your favorites...with a nice gift as an
extra."

Why is it so difficult for Sony and Mercury to make a similar gesture to Seiko's
fans? "Seiko Suite" was big and expensive and out of that whole 7-CD / 1-DVD
package, ONE of those discs EASILY could have been designated as a "fans
favorites" disc. Maybe some day the record labels will learn...

Until then, I'm sure we'll all keep making our various mix lists...:-)

Best regards,

Mike
