Born in Gunma, Japan, she trained at the Reiko Yamamoto
Ballet School.
Joined the Reiko Yamamoto Ballet Company in 1982.
Won the first prize at the Saitama Ballet Competition and received the Tachibana Akiko
Award in 1982.
Won the first prize at the Japan Ballet Competition and received the Minister for
Education Award in 1984.
Won the first prize at the All Japan Ballet Competition and receivedthe Tokyo Shimbun
Award in 1984.
Received the Ashihara Eiryo Award in 1985.
Won the Prix de Lausanne, and studied at the School of American Ballet in 1987.
Received the Muramatsu Award in 1987.
Won the Varna Competition in 1988.
Moved to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company, 1990, was promoted to First Soloist, 1991,
then Principal in 1995.
Moved to the Pacific Northwest Ballet Company in 1997 as First Soloist, was promoted
