a pair of Kai Trees(Chinese Pistachio trees) standing on both sides of the stone steps that lead up to the Holy Mausoleum.
| This School was opened in 1668(kanbun 8) by Lord Mitsumasa Ikeda of Bizen and began to build as .a full-scale school in 1670 (kanbun10) by Nagatada Tsuda,Mitsumasa's chief retainer. The auditorium, the largest building in the Shizutani School was completed in 1701 (Genroku14) under the order of Tsunamasa Ikeda. The roof of this building is covered with reddish brown Bizen Ware tiles. |
