Subject: Seiko Matsuda, Japan Tour 2000
Date: 2000/09/02 01:56:45
Hello everyone,
Seiko's 20th celebration Japan Tour which started on the 25th July, ended 2
days ago, 30th Aug. I know that you guys have been waiting patiently for
reports about it and all the happenings...but I have been sitting here for the
past half an hour, and it is the first time that I just don't know where to
begin.
How often is it that a big event like a 10th anniversary or a 15th or a 20th
for an artiste around the world (and perhaps in the case of JP where
competition is so severe) usually ends up or is simply a excuse to live on
past glory, an attempt to try get into the lime-light, or to make a quick buck.
And how many times have we heard of Seiko being critically described as a "smart
business" lady good at planning and timing events....
hmm.. what I am driving at is that we know that there is something about Seiko
that touches your heart... enough to have people flying all over the world to
be in the same concert hall to experience the magic of a Seiko Live, enough to
keep you looking forward to the next album and the next, the next Video Live
after the next, and the next live performance after another...
Seiko, in this 20th Party celebration did not disappoint. Of course, the Tour
was glam, the fans were great, the vocals and the performance that drew from
every minute and second of her last 20years singing and believing in her own
judgement...all the trademarks of "a quality artiste and a very gifted singer"
we have so casually attached with Seiko Matsuda were there, not compromised
one bit. The live, new co-producer Harada Shinji, new album, the singles are
now surpassing my obssession with 1998's Forever.
I just know that when I left the concert hall, ... we were already looking
forward to celebrating the next mildstone, Seiko's "Our 30 Years Together" and
the best of Seiko is yet to come...
It was only because the foundation that the entire event was built upon was
(1) the fans wanting to be there to congratulate Seiko for her 20 years achievement,
(2) from Seiko herself.... merely wanting to thank all her fans the best
that she could.
It was a celebration of and for Seiko & her fans,
a celebration of "Seiko&Fans' 20th Party", and
a hint of another history in the making from now on...
The magic of Seiko lives on.....another new chapter begins.
cheers,
Tzing.
PS: As a fan, I also want to thank all you guys for making this celebration
one of its kind, and to Seiko for letting us be part of her achievement.
