One paper (internet) reported that Seiko's office has denied the incident.

One side track... 
This news has even pushed over the announcement of SMAP's darling Kimutaku's 
marriage in the front page!!!!! All the more it shows the power and aura of
Seiko in JP!!! There is really no reason why Seiko shouldnt be the final singer
in this year's Red and White....food for thought NHK!
