Subject: Images Stolen from My SMF Sites
Date: 2002/01/13 01:24:17
Friends, this is a message I'd hoped that I would never have to write.
I noticed a new entry in my Seiko Matsuda Forever: The Remix Guest Book (I have
since removed it). It is from someone named Guchy who has announced his / her
new Seiko Web Site. I looked at the site and this person has taken many of my
images from SMF and removed the "Seiko Matsuda Forever" logos, resized them,
and repesented them as his / her own work.
On their front page there is a very small "animated GIF" file. Perhaps they
thought the picture was too small and no one would notice, but in the photos
they used from "LOVE" and "Guardian Angel" you can clearly see the "Seiko
Matsuda Forever" logo.
If you support the work that I have done on SMF for the last three years (as
well as the work of Takachan, Siu Bee, Eric and all of the other Seiko
Webmasters who respect each other and DO NOT STEAL from each other, I am asking
you to please NOT visit "Guchy's Room" if the creator chooses to promote it
here.
I thank you for your support. Below is a copy of the e-mail message I sent to
"Guchy"...

Unauthorized Use of my Seiko images on your Web Site
I noticed that you have posted a message on my Seiko Matsuda Forever Guest Book notifying visitors to my site of your new Seiko site.
I also notice that you have taken Seiko images from my Seiko Matsuda Forever: The Remix and Seiko Matsuda Forever Phase III web sites, altered them, and used them on your own site.
In some instances you removed the logo from my photos and resized them. In other photos I can see my logo on the photos.
I know that you have taken these images from my site and used them without permission, representing the work as your own. I am requesting that you remove all of these images from your site prior to Monday January 14th (8:00 AM United States Pacific Coast Time) or I will be forced to contact your Internet Service Provider and alert them to the fact that you have refused to comply.
I have also removed your entry from my Guest Book and have notified other Seiko fans of your actions. If you choose to redesign your site with your own original work I will be pleased to allow you to promote it on my site.
Your prompt compliance with this request is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Mike DeAngelis
