Hi Everyone,

Here's an idea that rock group R.E.M. used...on their official Web Site
(remhq.com), they are giving away a 10-track remix album. It's six songs, a
total of ten remixes, with all tracks from their 2001 album "Reveal." The
tracks are all CD-quality MP3 files that can be downloaded from the site, and
there is an extra file for CD artwork in PDF format. The complete album,
when burned to CD, clocks in at 50 minutes.

It might be a good time for Seiko to consider a similar gesture, because it
creates such a sense of "relationship" and "goodwill" between the performer
and fans. I'm still a little angry over "Love & Emotion"...two CDs that
easily could have fit one one, using a gimmick first exploited in the U.S. by
Guns 'n' Roses, then Bruce Springsteen.

Plus...as all Seiko fans know...it is always nice to have an "exclusive" item
that can't be purchased in a store. I can imagine the excitement if Seiko
fans knew that they could download a complete CD-quality remix album for free.

I wouldn't bet any money on this happening, but I had a combination of
gratitude (when I burned my copy of REM's "r.e.m.IX") and sorrow (when I
realized that Seiko and her management will probably not be "giving away" any
music in the near future.

Oh well...back to daydreaming.
