Subject: Seiko Famous in China ?

Dear All,
I chat with my friend who is from Beijing (presently studying in S'pore) and i ask if he knows Seiko Matsuda. To my suprise, he said YES. He is suprised that i like her because of the age gap difference. I should be going after Ayumi, Max etc....
He told me Seiko is POPULAR in China in the mid 90s.
Seiko has never been to China and yet famous there.
