I believe the creative 'editing' and camera work is part of a movement by
JP television to be more 'Westernized' and to mimic the same terrible,
uninteresting, dizzying effects and angles that one of our more popular 'kids'
station (aka: MTV and YTV) used to use,..but have since taken heed and reduced
the intensity of using such imagery.
It's a real shame since budgets are now no longer spent in co-ordinating how,
where, when, angles, etc. will be used during a performance recording,...and
to the camera-persons dismay that they are told by the art director to just
"get something EDGY"... The end result is video footage as what you have
described....soul-less and confusing to the eye.

A real let-down 'specially since I was looking so forward to seeing this one
on DVD.

Maybe one day scientists will be able to take a photographic dump of your
memory so that we can all see it the way it was meant to be seen. :P
