Subject: Our singer SEIKO is back! What a performance to start 2005
Date: 2005/01/01 04:23:34
Dear all,
I have just come back from the Super Premium Live today. Lucky me was able to go for both shows.
Ouch on my bank account since I had also gone for the Dinnershow on 12/18.
I don't recall being "touched" by her vocals and/or by any of her performance
since Zepp 1999 and in NTV's FUN 5 min tv performance with Masataka Matsutoya in 2000.
All I can say is that our singer SEIKO is back, finally. AND, I think I just
witnessed a new SEIKO, a live performer + singer SEIKO too. This is by far the
#1 show ever by Seiko for me.
Why so? All that I remembered about the show was not the clothes, the props etc,
but the following pointers, and I am up at 4AM wanting to share this with you.
1. She sings, her vocals ring.
2. Great great great band. Simply spectacular. Awesome. Lots of details put
into the music that does justice to the original recordings and themselves as musicians
3. No dancers, I dont remember the props and her dresses (two in all)
4. I can't believe it surpassed the recent lives of Zepp, Forever, Call Me Live.
I can't believe that I had witnessed a "performing vocalist SEIKO". A Seiko
whom I would say was a truly mesmerizing singer in the 80s but now is a class of her own.
5. There were a few real gems in her selection of songs, but more than anything
else, it wasn't really what songs she sang, but how she had performed and/with
her new found band. You know how you go to some live shows where you are
completely not familar with the songs, but yet you are left gasping because you
were so moved by the performance, band and music? This was exactly how I felt.
Last night, I felt I was listening to the songs which I was so familiar for the
first time and being introduced to "Seiko with xx band". Truly exceptional.
6. I would give up all the last five years summer tours and dinnershows to re-live the last night.
I guess this is the real Seiko, when she in truly enjoying singing and performing
What a way to end the end, to start her 25th anniversay celebration!

ps. the new single is a promising ballade.
pps. a new best will be released by Mercury in Jan. Nevermind about another best,
this one is Remastered and worth getting for the songs from the Mercury releases.
