Last night I watched the "Nouvelle Vague" French film by Jean-Luc Godard, 1990.
The term "Nouvelle Vague" really refers to the 60s New Wave of French cinemas.
After the movie, I couldn't help but ponder on the title which reminds me of Seiko's
1992 Nouvelle Vague. I find comfort in her "New Wave" music I almost forgot how liberating it was since its original release in March 1992. I think the album title
reflects a remarkable turn in Seiko career in the early 90s. Seiko was making her
own "new waves" in JP pop music. Infused by her collaboration with Ryo Ogura
(shortly after her work with David Foster and Phil Ramone), Seiko came out with
a series of hits that launched her into International stardom. Nouvelle Vague was
released a decade after her debut of Squall in March 1980.
