It's a false bottom with waterfall in the back left corner
additinal informations on Dec.20th2003
tank info:20x20x18 all glass with half glass and half perforated metal top.Using 8.0 lights and have moss growing up the glass and wood. Liverworts are developing were I placed them last year but this is new growth after I buried them in sand. Water fall was wet-saw cut to fit left side of tank and drilled. The stream was built with own brand of mortar that dried strong and is proven safe for all amphibians and fish. In this tank there are going to be matellas. Some of the epiphytic ferns that were recently transplanted to the back wall are growing well and The creeping fig is always in need of trimming. The soil is basic with added peat, the return portion of the water feature is rocky and filled with an 80% sand 20% soil mix that the water drains over. This has a creeping small water plant and some moss- not the same as on the land but one that only grow when wet from a local California location. I forget what species. The average temp near the light is 75*F and with the cooled water system the micro climate near the bottom, is around 65*F.
